Between May 17 and 21, a delegation of 19 members from Senegal’s Alliance for the Republic, headed by Seydou Guèye, the alliance’s national executive secretary, and former secretary-general and spokesperson of the Senegalese government, attended a CELAP program under the theme of “Governance Capacity-Building and National Development”.
On May 17, Prof. Xiong Yun, vice president of CELAP, met with the visiting guests and briefed them on the academy’s programs designed on the basis of case studies, the latest international trends, as well as achievements made through innovations.
Guèye applauded China’s great social and economic achievements and China’s positive role in promoting world progress and global governance. He expressed his wish for sending more Senegalese leaders to CELAP to learn from China’s developmental experience and methods for addressing emerging challenges.
During the five-day visit, the delegation learned about the practices and experience of the Shanghai Free Trade Zone, lessons and achievements of Pudong’s opening up and development, grass-root party capacity-building and social governance in Shanghai, and the city’s urban planning and development.
