On January 21st, Prof. Zheng Jinzhou, Vice president of CELAP, met with Mr. Stanley Loh, Ambassador of the Republic of Singapore to China. Mr. Loh Tuck Wai, Consul-General of Singapore in Shanghai, Ms. Liew Li Lin, Deputy Consul-General of Singapore in Shanghai, and Mr. Liu Genfa, Deputy Director-General of CELAP’s International Exchange and Program Development Department, were also present at the meeting.
Prof. Zheng Jinzhou expressed his welcome to the visiting guests, and briefed them on CELAP’s mission as a training institution, as well as the latest initiatives the academy has introduced to support the Belt and Road initiative and implement President Xi’s guidelines on developing socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era. Recalling the 2018 China-Singapore Forum and bilateral training exchanges and communication, he also expressed the wish for further cooperation with Singaporean institutions in the form of high-level visits and joint development of curricula, to push bilateral exchanges to a whole new level.
Ambassador Loh applauded the fruitful results CELAP had achieved over the years and the pivotal role that it played in facilitating Sino-Singapore exchanges. He was happy with the constructive and promising partnership between Civil Service College Singapore and CELAP and expressed the wish for the two institutions to further their cooperation, to jointly boost people-to-people exchanges between the two nations.
